On March 12th we took all our programs online at very short notice in response to the current health crisis. We want to say a resounding THANK YOU to our wonderful community of teachers, parents and students, who made it all happen with barely a hitch! We had a very successful spring semester online, culminaing in four Zoom recitals, and a very busy summer. Wayland School of Music has been working hard to bring music into the homes of our families, and we now are able to offer a full range of online private lessons and classes, including our usual free tryout private lesson on any instrument, via the online platform. For fall, we will also be offering in-person or hybrid lessons with some teachers, in a specially prepared environment.
Music soothes the soul, stimulates the mind, and helps us to connect. A weekly check-in with a dedicated and caring teacher gives your child something to look forward to; group classes with others help you feel connected socially; daily time with your instrument helps establish routines; the progress you make gives you a sense of achievement, agency and control. In this extraordinary, challenging time of uncertainty and social distancing, give your children and yourself the gift of music and connection to a wider musical community. All you need is a computer, a laptop, or a phone - leave the rest up to us!

Private lessons online
We are offering our usual full range of private lessons to students of all ages from our dedicated, experienced professional teachers, via your preferred online method (we can advise you if you're not sure which that is). For new students, we can ship the needed equipment from Amazon and/or arrange for curbside drop-off of instruments. Please contact us to arrange a free online tryout lesson.
Group classes online
Our new online group classes are up. Check out Small Group Intro to Piano Keyboard and Fiddling Fun, and sign up for a free demo class!
Student performances online
Check out our Music for the Community page for a variety of performances by our students, ranging from tiny beginners to accomplished young artists! Each day you'll find some kid-friendly info about the composer, music or instrument, and sometimes words so you can sing along. You can also subscribe to receive these performances twice-weekly in your inbox.
Faculty performances online
Starting in mid-April, we will be offering free concerts online from our outstanding faculty performers, many of whom have performed both nationally and internationally. Meanwhile, read about their professional accomplishments.
